在浙江大学获得科技哲学专业硕士和博士学位，在沈阳大学获得英语专业学士学位。曾在爱丁堡大学、伦敦政治经济学院、约克大学、维也纳大学、瑞士Brocher Foundation等研究机构访学。主要从事科学技术学、医学社会学、医学伦理学、科技政策等研究。关注生物医药，比如干细胞转化医学、生物样本库、靶向抗癌药物研发和应用中的社会、伦理、治理、政策等问题。
Haidan Chen is an Associate Professor (2013- ) of the Department of Management Sciences, College of Humanities and Development Studies, China Agricultural University. She was Research Fellow and Postdoctoral Fellow at the National University of Singapore (2012-2013), and Postdoctoral Fellow at Zhejiang University (2009-2012). She gained both an M.A. and Ph.D in the Philosophy of Science and Technology at Zhejiang University, and B.A. in English at Shenyang University. She was a Brocher Foundation visiting scholar; an exchange student of the European Union 6th Research Framework project BIONET (Ethical Governance of Biological and Biomedical Research: Chinese-European Co-operation), and visited the University of York, the London School of Economics, and the University of Vienna; a visiting postgraduate researcher at the Institute for the Study of Science Technology and Innovation (ISSTI), the University of Edinburgh. Her research interests include science and technology studies, medical sociology, bioethics, and science and technology policy. Her current research relates to the social, ethical, policy issues and the governance of biomedicine, in particular stem cell translational research, biobanks, and biomarkers.
