Agro-extractivism Inside and Outside BRICS: Agrarian Change and Development Trajectories

This is a time of looking back and looking forward pertaining to the rise of BRICS countries as new hubs of capital and their particular development mode - “agro-extractivism”. To address the questions of how agrarian changes are happening in BRICS countries and what influences they have exerted on a broader world, the College of Humanities and Development Studies, China Agricultural University is hosting a conference on “Agro-extractivism Inside and Outside BRICS: Agrarian Change and Development Trajectories”, to be held November 28-30 2016 on the West Campus of China Agricultural University in Beijing, China. About the College of Humanities

and Development Studies (COHD)

The College of Humanities and Development Studies was established in 2002. It has 194 faculty and a number of adjunct professors. It also has full education programs that cover both undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the disciplines of sociology, management, law, media and communications and foreign languages. Since 2008, the college started a Master and a PhD program in International Development Studies for students all over the world. COHD dedicates herself to researches in the fields of poverty alleviation and assets building, China development aid, rural community management, community-based resource management, critical agrarian and development studies.
