加雷斯·戴尔，英国布鲁内尔大学社会与政治科学系副系主任、博士生导师。此前，他的研究工作主要集中于卡尔·波兰尼的生平与著作、东德历史、东欧政治经济学和国际移民等主题，出版了《重构卡尔·波兰尼》（2016）、《卡尔·波兰尼传》（2016英，2017中）、《卡尔·波兰尼：市场的局限》（2010英，2016中）等系列论著。2016年，他合作主编了《绿色增长》一书，研究兴趣逐渐转向增长范式与环境问题（特别是技术拜物教和气候变化）的政治经济学，目前他正在筹备关于增长范式的新著。他还是卡尔·波兰尼政治经济研究所执行委员会委员、卡尔·波兰尼全球社会研究中心顾问委员会成员，同时也是《当代中东欧》、《炉边文学评论》、《可持续发展》、《历史唯物主义》等多个国际期刊的编委。
Gareth Dale, Dr. Gareth Dale is Associate Head and Doctoral Supervisor of the Department of Social and Political Sciences at Brunel University. Previously, his research work mainly focused on topics such as Karl Polanyi's life and works, East German history, Eastern European political economy, and international migration, and he published series of books including Reconstructing Karl Polanyi: Excavation and Critique (2016), Karl Polanyi: A Life on the Left (2016), Karl Polanyi: The Limits of the Market (2010). In 2016, he conducted a critical evaluation of the "Green Growth" strategies, and his research interests gradually shifted towards the growth paradigm and the political economy of the environment, particularly technology fetishism and climate change. Currently he is preparing a new book on The Growth Paradigm. He is also member of the Executive Committee of the Karl Polanyi Institute for Political Economy and the Advisory Committee of the Karl Polanyi Research Center for Global Social Studies, and in the editorial board of many international journals such as Contemporary Central and Eastern Europe, Revista Vatra - Vatra Literary Review, Sustainable Development (2009-2012), and Historical Materialism (1995-2001).

全球环境变化攸关所有国家、地区和生命，愈发频繁的极端天气与气候灾难以不同的方式影响着位于地球不同角落的生物及其所处的生态环境；与此同时，人类社会对物质和能源的需求仍在不断攀升，相应的温室气体和固体废弃物等排放有增无减，减缓和应对环境风险的尝试亦面临巨大挑战。推进生态文明建设，坚持绿色发展，必须树立新的发展理念，创新发展思路，转变生产方式和生活方式。以“生态·人文·社会”为主题和理念框架，我们尝试突破学科边界，努力搭建一个内容丰富多元、形式活泼多样的学术交流与行动网络，通过讲座讲学、文化沙龙、纪录片公益展映、主题音乐会、合作研究、人才培养、国际国内会议组织、期刊杂志组稿与对话、学术与行动网络构建等营造具有生态关怀、人文关怀和社会关怀的学术氛围以及行动空间。
