Huifang Wu is professor of agrarian sociology and Deputy Dean of the College of Humanities and Development Studies at China Agricultural University. She also serves as a Council Member of the Chinese Sociological Association, Deputy Secretary-General of both the Rural Sociology and Development Sociology Professional Committees under the Chinese Sociological Association, and an Executive Council Member of the Beijing Sociological Association.
In 2019, She was selected as a Leading Professor of “The 2115 Talent Development Program” of CAU. Previously, she was recognized by the Ministry of Education's "New Century Excellent Talents Support Program" and Beijing Universities' "Young Talents Support Program." She is also a member of the national level "Rural Sociology" quality course teaching team.
Her main research areas include agriculture and rural sociology, poverty alleviation, gender issues, and rural left-behind populations. She has led two projects funded by the National Social Science Fund, one sub-project under a major National Social Science Fund initiative, and multiple ministerial-level projects. Her collaborative research has repeatedly received provincial and ministerial-level scientific research awards. She has published dozens of papers in domestic and international journals, including China Rural Survey, Open Times, Women's Studies Forum, Journal of Agrarian Change, and Journal of Peasant Studies.
