Jingzhong Ye is a Distinguished Professor recognized by the National “Changjiang Scholar” Talent Program and professor of Agrarian and Development Studies at the College of Humanities and Development Studies, China Agricultural University, Vice President of the Chinese Sociological Association, President of the Asian Rural Sociological Association, and co-Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Peasant Studies.
He is a recipient of the State Council's Government Special Allowance and was selected for the Ministry of Education's "New Century Excellent Talents Support Program" and Beijing's "New Century Social Science Theories Talents Program" (Top 100).
His research areas include national development and agrarian change, development intervention and social transformation, labor migration and left-behind populations, smallholder agriculture and land systems, and rural education and social issues. He leads a major National Social Science Fund project on "Effective Linkage and Transformation from Poverty Alleviation to Rural Revitalization."
He has (co-)authored over 200 papers in Chinese and English, and published numerous Chinese monographs, English books, and translated works. As the lead researcher, he has twice received the First Prize for Outstanding Achievement in Scientific Research in Higher Education (Humanities and Social Sciences) from the Ministry of Education, twice received the First Prize for Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences from Beijing Municipality, and twice received the China Rural Development Research Award. He has also been recognized as an Elsevier "Highly Cited Chinese Scholar" for five consecutive years.
Additionally, his accolades include one Second Prize and one Third Prize from the Ministry of Education's Outstanding Achievement in Scientific Research in Higher Education (Humanities and Social Sciences), two Second Prizes from Beijing's Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences, the 9th Fok Ying-tung Education Foundation Young Teachers Award, the Baogang Excellent Teachers Award, and the title of Excellent Expert from the National Forestry and Grassland Administration.
